First things first, pour yourself a warm drink~
Fold black paper into half and cut out the desired shape (don’t forget to leave an extra inch to keep the two halves together!).
Time to get decoratin’!!
Out of the many ways to go about it, you may want to start by colouring in the top of the x’mas balls in metallic marker.
Proceed by cutting out plain white paper in circular shapes to glue in the middle. Glue these inside the card as well for the words.
If you’re using recycled paper like myself, using stamps to lightly cover the surface will help balance out the colours from the used side. (It also just looks better).
Punch a hole in the middle of the gold tip of the ball for the twine later on.
Get snippy and cut out small bits of decorative paper, reflective paper etc and get gluing!
An example with matte adhesive paper.
Use gold pant to line up the sides.
Use twine or ribbon to tie a bow through the previously punched hole at the top.
Add a little quote for your special someone.
After all this is done, its time to get down to the most important part– the letter. Slip them in envelopes, paste a stamp and dunk them into the nearest postbox and the Christmas season officially begins…. actually it started quite a while ago, I’m just pretty late.
Back from a short (but very lovely), sand-filled trip at Goa, India and it’s 2 days to Christmas. Here’s to 2016 and here’s a reminder to take life by its horns; its all a ball game, “If you are good, life is good” (Matilda, Roald Dahl). Wishing you guys a very Merry Christmas and a more than mediocre new year.
