Out of the many ways to go about it, you may want to start by colouring in the top of the x’mas balls in metallic marker.

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

Proceed by cutting out plain white paper in circular shapes to glue in the middle. Glue these inside the card as well for the words.

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset

If you’re using recycled paper like myself, using stamps to lightly cover the surface will help balance out the colours from the used side. (It also just looks better).

Punch a hole in the middle of the gold tip of the ball for the twine later on.

After all this is done, its time to get down to the most important part– the letter. Slip them in envelopes, paste a stamp and dunk them into the nearest postbox and the Christmas season officially begins…. actually it started quite a while ago, I’m just pretty late.

Back from a short (but very lovely), sand-filled trip at Goa, India and it’s 2 days to Christmas. Here’s to 2016 and here’s a reminder to take life by its horns; its all a ball game, “If you are good, life is good” (Matilda, Roald Dahl). Wishing you guys a very Merry Christmas and a more than mediocre new year.

Paris, France/ November 2014/ Louis Vuitton learning Journey

Morning walks to breakfast, speed walking through the parisian streets, historical/garden walks, museum hopping/sketching, LV workshops/exhibitions, daily routines down the metro, dinners together in the hotel room, chilly winter wind, walking through piles of yellow leaves, napkin discussions, using our windowsill as a natural refrigerator (oh yes). Huge thank you to everyone on the trip making it all possible! I’d say its a quiet world wind of a city in all its bloody historical glory from the street performers to its epic museums. Thank you, Paris for making this second time round so memorable. And thank you to anyone who actually looked/scrolled through this shit ton of pictures \(^o^)/.

A few hours back from the New Year’s party and a few hours to the first day of school. I guess this can only mean that this is where I shift gears and give this little page a little break, or at least, I’d be unable to post as often as I usually do. Just want to thank you all for sticking around. :-) So, till next time while I’m busy getting married to IB.

Have a kickass year guys.

DIY Ceramic plates/bowls painted on with acrylic paint & permanent markers, baked in the oven

  • Acrylic paint: paint the base of pattern white before the actual colour for colours to appear more vivid
  • Permanent markers/Sharpies: Go over the pattern twice
  • Dry for 24 hours before baking
  • 220°C for 30 mins
  • Do not pre-heat the oven
  • Leave objects to cool with the oven to prevent abrupt temperature changes which can cause them to shatter
  • May experience slight colour changes due to the baking (E.g. Greens to  blues & blacks to browns)

Let’s toast to me being too ambitious, trying to finish everything (&post about it) before Christmas. But here I am, on Christmas Eve, after a 4 hour drive to my uncle’s place and preparing myself for midnight mass tonight and giving you guys super last minute X’mas gift ideas…(apologies).

(thank you, friends for some of these photos)

It took so long for me to finally sort the photos and for most of it, figuring out how to put this all into words. This experience was a realisation of how small each and every one of us are in this almost infinite universe, but the significance of tiny actions with a lot of heart. Thank you infinitely to everyone on the trip, You’ve a special place in my heart (&stomach because food was delish), Pekalongan.

Toni&Guy’s sea salt spray and little plastic hair ties have been my best friends ever since I was figuring out how to salvage my oddly cut layers (of hair). But I’m glad I did because I’ve settled with this samurai bun (and have grown one with it also haha). Talk about never losing me in a crowd again. Also, this saves ninety percent of bad hair days; although they are still very much existent in this weather- We are practically living in a humidifier.

High-five to anyone who hasn’t started on X’mas cards/gifts/prep for school next year… WELL.

Recently back from Paris and a few days to Thailand and I’m excited to have a photo diary vomit on this page but I’m trying to go by chronological order haha it will have to wait.

So, a few weeks after the Bali trip, at the end of June 2014, my family/relatives (yes, you could expect a full boat) decided to boat around Perhentian Islands. A super laid-back resort area, crystal clear green pools and best of it all, a pretty inexpensive area/vacation. If anyone’s planning to venture around that area anytime soon, I’d suggest visiting both Pulau Perhentian Kecil & Pulau Perhentian Besar but particularly the latter because- TURTLES. I’m also fully convinced that life is better at sea: right under the sun, endless skies & the timelessness under water. One of my favourite parts about boating trips are the night rides. Just imagine an almost pitch black panorama, tiny lights in the far distance above the black waters, the sound of the salty wind and occasional chilly splashes. It’s almost like a storm on board where you can hardly stand, all you can do is sit by and watch. A really fun and memorable trip (also because our midnight flight was delayed and I almost didn’t make it in time for school the next day).

If anyone’s wondering, I used Nikon Coolpix AW120 for the underwater photos. Can I just say that it is superb!!! Great quality photos/Video recording/built-in wifi (which makes it easy breezy for uploading pictures whilst travelling).

Hope everyone’s December is going swell!

These 2 lip colours (together) have been my go-to: lip balm, lip stain and then lipstick. Great thing about this combination is that colour still stays on after I stuff my face with food- which happens to be the perfect summary of my holiday life. Apart from catching up with friends, transferring files, reading, slipping in a little work here and there and trying to get my life together (though we never really do, don’t we), I’ve sold my soul to watching movies. June 2014 // Bali, Indonesia

I guess surviving on to-do lists and bring caught in a whirlpool of busy schedules has not only become a part of school life but Life life. It’s only been about 5 days since term ended and I’ve already been in too many places at once. I’m not complaining though, it has been pretty fun. So, before I jump into my recent travels, let’s rewind a little back to June (actually because I’m terrible at keeping up to date).

Straight when midterms ended, Khym, Nat, her parents and I headed headed to Bali for a food/beach/horror / rom-com night/chubby bunny/treetop adventure -filled short getaway. Big thank you to Nat and her parents!! It was tonsSS of fun and Im just gonna leave the rest of it to the pictures ✌

Hello. Huge apologies for inactivity but I guess I can finally say that stress weeks/end of year’s exams are finally over!!!!!

Throughout the past few angst-filled/sleepless weeks I’ve been going back and forth because I know there are much larger problems in the world, and I’m here complaining about how stressed I am. Nonetheless, I’ve been told that we all suffer in different ways. Even so, it shouldn’t give me the liberty to complain about my life.

As much as how inadequate I feel compared to the amazing human beings around me, I think it’s important we stay optimistic. However, throughout the 16 years of getting to know myself, I’ve figured that I tend to become highly idealistic. Things will change and I’m going to allow myself to.

I think that as much as it’s important to keep adapting to the changes of figuring ourselves out, the world around us does not stop moving. Be nothing short of giving to the people around you; take in the good, the bad and everything in between. You are allowed to feel human.
